I have worked as a medical receptionist since 2009. I love my work and enjoy liaising with patients ensuring they understand all aspects of their medical care.
On completion of my university degree, I commenced work in the perioperative department of the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2003. During my time there I worked in all three specialties of theatre including anaesthetics, recovery and scrub/scout nursing. Over the years I have worked at Ipswich Hospital in the operating theatre and St Andrews Private Hospital Ipswich.
An interest in orthopaedic surgery encouraged my decision to advance my formal education and after completing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Practice, I have worked as a Perioperative Nurse Surgical Assistant since 2014. My role as a practice nurse is to provide patient education regarding surgery and post-operative management and care of the patient. It is a privilege to care for patients through all stages of their surgical journey.
